Dr Louise George has a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the UK and has extensive clinical experience having worked within the field of adolescent and adult mental health, in a variety general and highly specialist services, including public health, private hospitals, non-government organisations and universities. She has provided teaching and training for psychologists and other health professionals for many years. She has published research articles and presented at conferences.
Dr George was previously employed by one of the top NHS trusts within the UK, the South West London & St. George’s Mental Health NHS Trust as a clinical psychologist providing treatment to patients with moderate to severe mental illness. She has also worked for many years in private practice.
Dr George has extensive experience working in the area of Eating Disorders and has been trained and worked at a number of distinguished university teaching hospitals both in Australia and overseas, including The Peter Beumont Centre for Eating Disorders at Wesley Hospital in Sydney, and the then largest eating disorder unit in the UK, the St. George’s Eating Disorder Service in London. She played an active role in the development and delivery of the psychological therapy in those hospital Eating Disorders services. She was previously involved in the development of online teaching in the field of Eating Disorders through her work in Sydney with the InsideOut Institute.
Dr George is a member of The Australia & New Zealand Academy for Eating Disorders (ANZAED) and is a Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician.
Dr Louise George has a strong interest in the area of supervision and training and is an AHPRA board approved supervisor. She has provided clinical supervision to a range of mental health professionals.
Dr George has provided supervision and training to several Eating Disorder services throughout NSW. She has also provided clinical supervision to the teams at a number of well recognised Sydney mental health services and hospitals. She has been committed to the provision of supervision and training for many years.
Dr George is fully registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, AHPRA, (PSY0001156578) with endorsement as a clinical psychologist.
